United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Chery automobiles in the Philippines, has revealed that its Chery brand topped industry sales for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) with robust demand for its all-new Tiggo rEV CD-M midsize 7-seater PHEV SUV, which recently saw the release of its Tiggo rEV Luxury Edition (LE) variant.
The result was based on sales reports from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reflecting sales of CAMPI and TMA member brands for the month of October.
Eighty-one (81) units of the Chery Tiggo rEV were sold for the month of October, giving the Tiggo rEV a market share of over a quarter of the PHEV segment. A total of 19 different PHEV models from 7 different brands sold a total of 303 PHEV models in October, the second highest of which sold 51 units, according to CAMPI figures.
